Once we've finished installing our windows, doors and conservatories, it's important they get the right aftercare to last as long as possible. We provide a devoted aftercare service to help with that, and here are some of the questions we get asked frequently regarding product aftercare.

Do you subcontract any of the aftercare work you provide?

As we employ a devoted service engineer, we provide a direct aftercare service to our customers. Not only does this ensure for better communication, as we don’t need to liaise with any subcontracted tradesman, but it also means we have direct control over the work. This means that we can quickly arrange for any remedial work to take place and we can guarantee a consistent level of quality.

What types of remedial work can you perform?

We can address small concerns requiring remedial action, including slight door adjustments, replacement handles, trims and other small accessories. However, larger jobs like replacement double glazed units and new are no problem for us either. No matter how big or small the concern, we’ll be more than happy to help.

My new door was only installed a couple of months ago and is now difficult to open, what’s wrong with it?

It is a common issue for a new door to require an adjustment a few months after it has been installed as they adapt to their new surroundings. In most cases, this is not a sign that there is a fault with it. Our devoted service engineer is able to perform any adjustments to get the door operating properly again.

How long does it take for your service engineer to come out?

We cannot give an exact time of how long it will take for us to come out to perform any remedial action. This is because the commitments of our service engineer will vary. But, what we can assure you is that when we say we’ll turn, we’ll turn up. We won’t mess you around or not give you reasonable notice if we have to cancel for any reason.

Can you clean windows with newspaper?

Yes, you can. Newspaper will not separate and cause lint so it can be an effective tool for cleaning the glass part of windows. For uPVC and aluminium window frames, these can be cleaned easily using a soft cloth and soapy. Doing this occasionally will keep them looking their best and ensure for a scratch-free finish.

Can window locks be replaced?

It is possible to replace a broken window lock. Provided your windows are still under guarantee and the broken lock is a result of general wear and tear, we’ll happily replace them for you free of charge.

How do you maintain locks and hinges?

Any mechanical parts of windows and doors such as hinges and locks can be sprayed with a silicone-based product such as WD40 to keep them lubricated. Doing this twice a year will keep them in proper working order.
